On June 24th I was invited to cover the M’Sha’ & Co Boutique Runway Showcase in Madison TN! M’Sha & Co. boutique is a local boutique that is located in Madison, and they collaborated with other vendors and boutiques to put on a Runway Showcase featuring boutique clothing, shoes, jewelry and more from locally owned businesses!
Upon entering the venue which was the Rock Tha Bellz Event Center, I was floored at how beautiful the décor was! They went all out for this event! They had draping on the ceiling with a disco ball in the center, the chairs were draped , they had a red carpet, all of the vendors were placed perfectly throughout the building in order to give the best shopping experience to customers and it was just all around a very nicely planned and executed event. Oh! And did I mention they had a bar? Yassss!!
It wasn’t long before the show got started and you would have felt as if you were in Italy or Paris watching a designer run way show!!! They had women of color in all shapes and sizes working the runway! Each boutique showcased in the fashion show had its unique flair that stood out and made them distinct from one another. Some were all African print dresses, outfits, headwraps and more, some were more fun and urban, some were more classy and couture , some focused on kids and mens wear! It was just a great mix of the best that these boutiques had to offer.
What I liked most about the event is the fact that a lot of the looks shown on the runway could possibly be purchased right then and there at the vendor tables that were set up at the event. So not only did you sip and sit, but you could also shop and spend! The best of both worlds I must say. I was able to get gorgeous shots of the models walking the runway as well as the beautiful items and set ups that were there. I also thoroughly enjoyed the contests! During intermissions the DJ and MC for the evening allowed women in the audience to rip the runway and whoever got the most claps and noise would when the contest and got a chance to get a free item!
In addition, I got a chance to meet up with Karla (Kb) of @nashvillesocialbutterfly and @_yourstrulykb! I have known her for some years now and have just watched her blogging journey blossom since she began last year! I want to give her a special shout out and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to cover the event! I had so much fun and was so grateful that people already in the game are reaching out to me to cover and attend events! Definitely looking forward to doing more!
